September 27th 2014, Columbia State Historic Park presents the 32nd Annual Fiddle and a Bango* Contest, which is an all-day contest where musicians compete for cash prizes in six categories: fiddle, banjo, mandolin, guitar, vocal and miscellaneous, while spectators relax in lawn chairs. Registration for contestants is 9 to 10:30 am when competition begins and continues until about 4:30 pm, except for a lunch break featuring a Chili Cook-Off.

 *Bango was a misprint on the contest T-shirts back in 1983, and the name stuck!

September 27th to September 28th 2014, Tuolumne hosts the Memorial Hall Antique Fair. The huge open space and wood floors of Tuolumne Memorial Hall complement the antiques while the local park provides ample shaded parking.
