Sierra Repertory Theatre presents “Mary Poppins”
Mary Poppins follows the troubled Banks family after the delightful nanny arrives on their doorstep. Using a “practically perfect” combination of magic and common sense, she takes the children on memorable experiences, but even the grown-ups learn a lesson or two from the nanny who advises that “anything can happen if you let it. Murphys’ Irish Days
Open rain or shine! Thousands of people from Northern California and beyond gather in the historic gold rush town of Murphys to honor its Celtic heritage and to celebrate as only the Irish can. Its picturesque Main Street is filled with booths offering hand crafted items, original art, photographs, tasty food, wine, and other beverages. The day begins with a pancake breakfast. At 11 a.m. the swirl of bagpipes heralds a parade of marching bands, classic cars, horses, community organizations, novelty entries. Continuous entertainment will feature singers, dancers, musicians, and jugglers throughout the day. Pony rides for the young ones and Renaissance actors encamped in the park. Raffle for an exciting trip for two to Ireland.

Columbia’s Birthday Celebration
On this day we celebrate the discovery of gold by the Hildreth party (March 27, 1850). Gather in the middle of town for a speech, cake, punch, and reenactments as well as docents in costume throughout town. Please, contact Columbia State Historic Park for more details.
