Mary Poppins follows the troubled Banks family after the delightful nanny arrives on their doorstep. Using a “practically perfect” combination of magic and common sense, she takes the children on memorable experiences, but even the grown-ups learn a lesson or two from the nanny who advises that “anything can happen if you let it. 13th Annual Storytelling Concert for Adults

March 21st

Murphys’ Irish Days

Open rain or shine! Thousands of people from Northern California and beyond gather in the historic gold rush town of Murphys to honor its Celtic heritage and to celebrate as only the Irish can. Its picturesque Main Street is filled with booths offering hand crafted items, original art, photographs, tasty food, wine, and other beverages. The day begins with a pancake breakfast.  At 11 a.m. the swirl of bagpipes heralds a parade of marching bands, classic cars, horses, community organizations, novelty entries. Continuous entertainment will feature singers, dancers, musicians, and jugglers throughout the day.  Pony rides for the young ones and Renaissance actors encamped in the park.  Raffle for an exciting trip for two to Ireland.

March 27th

Columbia’s Birthday Celebration

September 27th 2014, Columbia State Historic Park presents the 32nd Annual Poison Show. This itchy plant is made into flower arrangements, jewelry, works of art, and even a poison oak salad!! September 27th 2014, Columbia State Historic Park presents the 32nd Annual Fiddle and a Bango* Contest, which is an all-day contest where musicians compete for cash prizes in six categories: fiddle, banjo, mandolin, guitar, vocal and miscellaneous, while spectators relax in lawn chairs. Registration for contestants is 9 to 10:30 am when competition begins and continues until about 4:30 pm, except for a lunch break featuring a Chili Cook-Off.

 *Bango was a misprint on the contest T-shirts back in 1983, and the name stuck!

September 27th to September 28th 2014, Tuolumne hosts the Memorial Hall Antique Fair. The huge open space and wood floors of Tuolumne Memorial Hall complement the antiques while the local park provides ample shaded parking. Saturday 9:00 am to 4:00 pm and Sunday 9:00 am to 3:00 pm are free admission. Saturday at 8:00am is $5. This bi-annual antique fair has been very popular. 25 vendors are carefully chosen for antique, vintage and shabby chic.

Fee Free Day on Saturday, June 9

Fee Free Day Marks National Get Outdoors Day

Yosemite National Park announces that entrance to Yosemite National Park will
be free on Saturday, June, 9, 2012. The fee free day is in celebration of
National Get Outdoors Day, which offers opportunities for families to
experience outdoor activities. The goal of National Get Outdoors Day is to
encourage first-time visitors to visit public lands and also to
reconnect young people with nature.
National Get Outdoors Day began in 2008 to encourage the American people
to dedicate a single day to being outdoors and experience nature. These
outdoor experiences motivate people to spend more time outdoors
throughout other times of the year.

 Upcoming fee free dates in 2012 include National Public Lands Day
(September 29) and Veterans Day Weekend (November 10 – 12).

The free entrance days waive entrance fees for entering the park.
All other fees associated with camping, lodging, or activities
within the park are still in effect.
