Railtown 1897-Opening Weekend:

Opening weekend for the regular steam train operating season at Railtown 1897 SHP. Grand Opening festivities with the No. 3 team engine operating on both days. This weekend only, everybody rides FREE! Arrive at 7 a.m. and watch the crew prepare the train for the day in the historic roundhouse. Departure times are 10:30 a.m., Noon, 1:30 p.m., and 3:00 p.m

April 8th

2nd Saturday Art Night:

Look for banners up and down Washington Street in Sonora. This is where you will find shops participating in the magical blend of art, live music, performers, and art demonstrations. All events are free!

41st Annual Columbia Wine Tasting:

The Columbia College Foundation invites you to the 41st Annual Columbia Wine Tasting at Columbia State Historic Park. Taste fine wines from over 70 wineries and enjoy delicious hors d’oeuvres while supporting the Hospitality Management Program. Souvenir glass provided with ticket price. This event takes place on April 9th from 1pm-4pm. Tickets are $55, $60 at the door.

St. James Concert Series:

Local artist Mekena Clark presents a program drawn from her repertoire of classical and semi-classical music. The Red Church Sonora, CA. Time: 3pm. Admission: Adult $15/Student $6

April 13th

2nd Thursday Indie Movie Night @ the Sonora Opera Hall:

2nd Thursday Indie Movie Night in April brings you the “Royal Tenenbaums” movie. The Royal Tenenbaums is one of the most original and dark comedies so far this (young) century. The all-star cast is dead on in their portrayal of a New York family with a few problems. If you haven’t seen the movie, you must. Bring a comfortable chair or use one of ours. There will be beer & wine and a “Royal Cocktail” as well as gourmet popcorn, of course! The doors open at 6:00 and the movie begins at 7:00 pm. Proceeds will be used for more events downtown. Noises Off at the Fallon House Theater:

A riotous whirlwind of theatrical catastrophe, Noises Off presents a pitiful acting troupe stumbling through rehearsal and performance of a ludicrous farce. Bedlam reigns on stage and off, from missing contact lenses and misplaced props to philandering lovers and a lethally swing axe in three acts of non-stop hilarity. April 15th

Parade-Who Let the Dogs Out in Downtown Twain Harte:

Back by popular demand! This event is open to all those who have a dog or dogs trained to walk on a leash and who’s dogs are socially friendly. Sign-up start at 10AM out in front of Cal Fire on Meadow Lane and the parade starts at 11:00 AM on Joaquin Gully in Twain Harte. The parade is two blocks long and there are always spectators out on the sidelines to root you on. There are awards given for best dressed dog, best looking dog, and the worst looking dog. There are local dog vendors in the parking lot next to All That Matters and food is available from any of the great restaurants in town. Bring your dog and join in the parade!

Railtown 1897-Wild flower Trains:

Special afternoon Wildflower Train departs at 3 pm from the Railtown 1897 SHP depot, after a short video presentation at 2:30 pm. Prior to boarding the train, passengers will have the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the wildflowers of the Sierra Nevada foothills. Once on board the train naturalists will answer questions and point out wildflower displays along the way. Regular ticket prices apply.

Easter Brunch and Egghunt:

Enjoy a family-friendly Easter brunch with your friends at Ironstone Vineyards! Bring your basket and be prepared to go “hunting,” as we pair with the Murphy’s-Angels Lions Club to bring you an Easter egg hunt (friendly for ages 4+). Not a morning person? No problem! We have two brunch seating’s to fit your Easter schedule. Free Easter Egg Hunt in Twain Harte:

Annual Free Easter Egg Hunt for kids through 6th grade. Egg toss for all ages. To be held at Eproson Ball Field at 12 Noon.


Victorian Easter Parade in Columbia:

Dress up in your Easter finery and be a part of Columbia’s Victorian Easter Parade, a Victorian Era promenade on Main Street in Columbia State Historic Park on Easter Sunday. Prizes will be awarded for fanciest Victorian hat,
best dressed couple, lasses and lads, groups, and pets (pre-register). Children will enjoy Columbia’s popular Easter Egg Hunts. Be on the lookout for Thaddeus E. Hare (aka the Easter Bunny) walking around town, handing out fresh carrots to the kids.

April 29th

Sonora Spring Festival:

From 11 am to 4 pm in downtown Sonora, this event is free to the public and includes arts and craft vendors, live music, street entertainment and a hair and fashion show. Join us as Sonora swings into Spring with this family fun event
